Plato and panpsychism
\nPlato’s Timaeus i> claims that the world is a single living creature animated by a ‘world soul’ – it\, and everything in it\, is therefore alive and intelligent. Wh at does he mean by this? At the very least we are being challenged to radi cally revise our understanding of what it means to share in intelligence\, to drop our assumption that intelligence is defined by the human version of it\, and to reconsider our relationship to the universe and it various elements. Perhaps the most pressing problems of the modern day can be reso lved by revisiting the ancient vision of psyche as contemplated by the Pla tonists.
\nA gentle exploration of the world as ensouled. No pr evious formal experience of philosophy necessary. All welcome – free entr y\, but donations gladly accepted!
