Will the promises and pledges made at the Glasgow climate s ummit ensure the prospects of a thriving humanity on a habitable planet?\n Chaitanya Kumar works as the head of environment and green transition at t he New Economics Foundation – NEF\, a charity and think tank working at th e intersection of environment and social policy. NEF was one of the pionee rs of the Green New Deal and continues to champion that goal for the UK.\n He was previously Head of Climate and Energy Policy at Green Alliance in t he UK and before that was based in New Delhi as South Asia campaigns leade r for 350.org. He has an MSc in energy policy from the Science Policy Res earch Unit at Sussex University.\nFor more than three decades\, the NEF’s mission has been to transform the economy so it works for people and the p lanet. They work with people igniting change from below and combine this w ith rigorous research to fight for change at the top.
