Music parallels and illuminates the experience of God in its changeability and fleetingness, and is one of the best ways we have to find the stillness in which a experience the sense of God’s presence. It can also provide a narrative for the cycle of life which allows our inexpressible feelings to be given voice at times of both sorrow and rejoicing.

In reflection and conversation, renowned theologian Fr Timothy Radcliffe OP and award winning musician Andrew Carwood will explore together what music can teach us about faith beyond words. Timothy Radcliffe is a Dominican Friar, a former Master of the Order of Preachers, and one of the best-loved Christian spiritual teachers of our times. His bestselling books include Sing a New Song: The Christian Vocation, What’s the Point of Being a Christian? and Take the Plunge: Living Baptism and Confirmation. Andrew Carwood is Director of Music at St Paul’s Cathedral. An internationally regarded singer and conductor, he is also the Founder Director of The Cardinall’s Musick, with which he has won numerous awards including the prestigious Gramphone award for Recording of the Year.
