Dr. Sylvia McLain is biophysicist at the University of Oxford where she runs a research group who’s primary aim is to understand the physics of life, by looking a biology on the atomic level. Sylvia is also an armchair philosopher who is interested in the structure and philosophy of modern science, how it works and what its limitations are. She is a retired mountain-climber and kayak instructor and failed gas station attendant and pizza delivery girl. Join us in what will be a fascinating discussion about the structure of scientific discovery and busting stereotypes amongst other things!
