About this talk
ARK Special Seminar: Translational Longevity: From Ageing Phenomics to Geroprotector Discovery. Ageing is a complex, multi-system process, yet much of geroscience remains confined within single-model paradigms. In this talk, Dr Lyu will present a phenomics-driven framework for understanding ageing heterogeneity, drawing on cross-species models across metabolic, immune, and sex-specific dimensions to identify translational interventions for healthy ageing. Building on this foundation, he will discuss how AI-powered discovery platforms are accelerating the decoding of novel ageing mechanisms as well as the identification of novel geroprotectors, spanning both pharmacological candidates and nutraceutical interventions, while highlighting the translational challenges of moving from mechanistic insight to real-world application. Finally, he will introduce a One Health perspective on longevity science, illustrating how companion animal ageing can offer complementary insights into the biology of healthspan extension. This talk aims to spark discussion on how academic and industry-driven approaches can converge to close the gap between fundamental ageing research and translational geroprotector discovery.
