About this talk

This panel discussion will examine how the Iran war could reshape China’s energy strategy and clean technology ambitions. As the world’s largest energy importer and a dominant player in clean technology manufacturing, China has long prioritised energy security. Is rising geopolitical risk accelerating Beijing’s push toward renewable energy and energy independence? Bringing together leading experts in energy, climate, and China policy, the discussion will explore the implications of the conflict for China’s future energy demand, energy security strategy, and broader geopolitical positioning relative to the United States. Registration This event is open to the public and free to attend; however, registration is required. This panel discussion is taking place on campus and will not be recorded or live-streamed. Organiser This event has been co-organised by YCW London and the SOAS China Institute. Image credit: Wenying Yuan via Unsplash
