Until the 1900s, the Tower of London was used to censor those considered a danger to the Crown. In this age of online freedom our panel of journalist, historians and activists discuss the role of whistle blowers, Hacktivists and the dangers and debate around state controlled censorship.

Lauren Johnson

Lauren Johnson is an author and historian. Her history of the first year of Henry VIII’s reign (‘So Great a Prince: England and the Accession of Henry VIII‘) was recently published by Head of Zeus. She is currently working on a biography of that much-maligned monarch from the Wars of the Roses, Henry VI.

Lauren also works as Research Manager for the live costumed interpretation company, Past Pleasures Ltd, at heritage sites including Hampton Court Palace and the Tower of London

Jim Killock
