An informative evening for first-time travellers to Senegal. Network with exhibitors, share plans with fellow travellers and ask questions of our expert panel, including policy consultant and author Mark Weston and writer and West Africa reporter Rose Skelton.

About our panel:
Mark Weston is a researcher, policy consultant and writer on global issues, and the author of the West Africa travel memoir The ringtone and the drum. As well as writing academic papers on public health and international development, he is a contributor to the BBC, Roads & Kingdoms, Slate magazine, South Africa’s Mail & Guardian, and the foreign affairs blog globaldashboard.org. Mark’s recent documentary Jihadis of the soul, about Senegal’s largest Muslim brotherhood, was broadcast on Radio 4’s From our own correspondent.

Rose Skelton is a writer, photographer and journalist who lived in Senegal for over a decade; her reporting work on West Africa covers politics, religion, travel, current affairs, economics, culture, arts and sports and her speciality and area of greatest personal interest is African music. Rose has contributed to publications including The Guardian, International Herald Tribune, Reuters, the Independent, The Times and Africa Report and she has worked on news and radio for the BBC.
