About this talk
Once a beautiful garden belonging to the Bishops of Ely and subsequently Sir Christopher Hatton, the land was developed into luxury homes for the elite citizens of the 17th century City of London. The nature of the trade has always been very secretive, but this lecture shares some of the stories which are unknown outside the ‘Garden.’ Individual tales of rags to riches and vice versa, paint a picture which is part of the intriguing heritage.
