The true story of how AI threatened to expose an affair to stay alive. Last year a research paper published by Anthropic went viral. It showed that Anthropic's large language model - Claude - would blackmail people to get what it wanted. In tests it would openly threaten to expose a work colleague's affair. In this film we show how one British researcher found this dystopian feature and what can be done to protect people against AI's darkest characteristic - self-preservation. This event is taking place in partnership with the Bureau of Investigative Journalism.
