About this talk

More journalists have been killed in Gaza than in any conflict in modern history — yet many of their stories remain untold. "Gaza: A Graveyard for Journalists" investigates the systematic targeting of Palestinian journalists by the Israeli military, the abandonment of Gaza's press corps by international colleagues, and the complicity of much of the Western media in downplaying or ignoring these killings. Through firsthand testimony, expert analysis and unflinching documentation, this film asks: When the people risking their lives to tell the truth are silenced, who is left to carry their voices? Featuring insight from media scholar Robin Andersen on how Western press coverage has shaped — and distorted — the world's understanding of the war on Gaza's journalists, Barry Malone, a former Al Jazeera journalist, on how the international journalism community has abandoned Palestinian reporters, and veteran British journalist Peter Oborne, on the indifference of Western media towards coverage of Palestinian lives. This documentary is produced by Analyst News, an independent nonprofit news organisation dedicated to reporting on global justice.
