About this talk
The women fighting back against Grok's sexual deepfake abuse. It's been nearly a year since the Grok sexual deepfake scandal. In just a few weeks Elon Musk's AI chatbot generated an estimated 3 million explicit deepfake images of women at a rate of 6,000 per hour. As British police continue to struggle to track down perpetrators, survivors are taking matters into their own hands. In a film by The Bureau of Investigative Journalism, Lydia Morrish uncovers the legal loopholes and unanswered data requests that have put law enforcement at a significant disadvantage when trying to take on Big Tech. We follow the stories of campaigner and presenter Jess Davies, social commentator Narinder Kaur, and UK MP Jess Asato, and we pull back the curtain on Grok's underlying code to examine how the chatbot permits harmful content to be generated in the first place. Doors at 6 PM. All ages. 1 hour 30 minutes.
