What turns a childhood fascination with animals, into a lifetime spent defending the natural world? How do you communicate the urgency of climate and biodiversity loss to millions? And what does it take to recreate a Tyrannosaurus Rex?! The man with the answers is naturalist, broadcaster and author Chris Packham. Chris has spent decades bringing wildlife into our living rooms, via much-loved TV programmes including The Really Wild Show and Springwatch. Known for his uncompromising commitment to conservation, Chris is also a leading voice on environmental issues and a co-founder of the campaign group Wild Justice. In a special edition of Radio 4's The Life Scientific, recorded at the Ri, Jim Al-Khalili talks to Chris about the kestrel that changed his life, coming to terms with his autism diagnosis, and why speaking up for wildlife has never been more important.
