Sixty years ago, Star Trek burst on to our screens, imagining new worlds, strange lifeforms and technologies that once seemed impossible. But how much of its science stands up to scrutiny? Join a team of scientists and engineers as they explore the real science behind Star Trek: where the series got it right, where it stretched the truth, and how scientific discoveries have inspired its stories. We'll also discover how Star Trek itself has influenced researchers, technologies and our understanding of what the future might hold. This is a theatre and livestream event for an adult audience, where the speakers and audience in the Theatre are joined by audience online. The livestream will go live at 6:55pm and the introduction will begin at 7:00pm. If you register but miss the livestream, the video will be available to you via the same link for two weeks after the event date.
