About this talk

What happens when translation moves beyond transmitting meaning to attempt to transmit the aural, visual, and formal qualities (rhyme, meter, parallelism, etc.) of one language into another? What if translation could move beyond the scope of translating the meaning of one text into the meaning of another but to translate whole systems of poetics at scale? In this talk we will explore a wide variety of experimental translation, transliteration, and interlanguage projects that blur the boundaries between Chinese and English. Registration This event is open to the public and free to attend; however, registration is required. This event is taking place on campus and will not be recorded or live-streamed.
