OUSBMS welcomes renowned investigative journalist BRIAN DEER to present the story that caused the longest-ever inquiry by the UK General Medical Council; the story of the MMR vaccine controversy.

Deer will describe a case study of a researcher who had (or, in fact, borrowed) an idea, ran with it, made mistakes (outside his training) and couldn’t let go when it became obvious that his idea was wrong. So, to keep the money coming in, and his ambitions for glory alive, he edged from error to fraud.

A discussion that students and researchers in any area will find thought-provoking and memorable.
