Come along to the Shulman Auditorium at the Queen’s College on Monday of 8th week for the latest instalment of the highly-successful Queen’s College Sexuality and Gender Seminars.

As one of a tiny number of openly gay athletes, Claire Harvey captained the GB Women’s Sitting Volleyball team at the London 2012 Paralympics, having taken up the sport after an accident left her partially paralysed in one leg. A former head of corporate responsibility for the Financial Services Authority, she now works as assistant director of inclusion at the Youth Sport Trust, work for which she was named ‘Hero of the Year’ at the 2013 European Diversity Awards. She is an active campaigner for greater inclusion of LGBT people in sport, and appeared in this year’s Independent on Sunday Pink List. She also delivered a keynote speech at Stonewall’s London Workplace Conference earlier this year.

Claire will be speaking on ‘The Journey to London 2012 as a Gay Paralympian’, and will take questions from the audience afterwards.

All are welcome, and entry is free and unticketed.
