Edward J Dent (1875-1957) is one of the real cultural giants of the twentieth century yet very few people now have ever heard of him. Professor of Music at Cambridge, Dent was friends with EM Forster, Siegfried Sassoon, and JM Keynes, Karen’s forthcoming biography of Dent, has been drawn mostly from his unpublished diaries and vast correspondence. Why she remains captivated by the man after nine years of intense research on his life is the subject of her talk.
This event is free of charge and open to all, but you must register first, via http://www.oxforduniversitystores.co.uk (browse ‘Products’ for ‘Oxford Centre for Life-Writing’. A buffet sandwich lunch will be provided.
