One of the big technological challenges of this new century is to find reliable and competitive platforms to implement emergent quantum technologies. Their power could produce a steep change in information processing capabilities, that could result in a new information age. We now need to develop devices that take advantage of our increasing understanding of the power and potentialities of these new instruments. Quantum technologies at the atomic nanometer scale, one billionth of a meter, represents a powerful avenue to achieving this aim.

Professor Rosario Fazio, Oxford Martin Visiting Fellow, will discuss how making quantum architectures such as dots, wires at the nanometer scale can be a winning choice.

This talk will be followed by a drinks reception, all welcome
