Apocalypses and politics go hand in hand as University of Oxford physicist Fran Day takes a break from studying particles that probably don’t exist to take to the stage in a stand-up comedy spectacular that is witty, irreverent and occasionally surreal. Fran describes herself as an outrageous liberal and lover of all things nerdy. Equipped with bar and bundles of laughs, how better to spend your Friday evening?

Science presenter, geek songstress and “Voice of an Angle” Helen Arney will be warming up the stage with a short performance from her comedic repertoire. Helen has appeared on TV, radio and in theatres across the world with her unique mix of stand-up, songs and science. You may recognise her from BBC show Coast, where she explained physics while riding a rollercoaster, singing the periodic table on Channel 4, and smashing a wine glass with the power of her voice live on Blue Peter.
