About this talk
The Oxford India Centre for Sustainable Development (OICSD) is delighted to host the Jaipur Literature Festival's special session in Oxford. Acclaimed poet and novelist Jeet Thayil comes to Oxford for the Jaipur Literature Festival's Oxford session on literature, cities, memory, and the modern imagination. Best known for his Booker-shortlisted novel Narcopolis, Thayil is also the author of The Book of Chocolate Saints, Low, and several celebrated poetry collections including “These Errors are Correct” that won the Sahitya Akademi Award in English. His writing moves between Bombay’s underworlds, mysticism, and music. This is a unique opportunity to hear one of contemporary literature’s original and uncompromising voices speak live in Oxford. Jeet will be in conversation with Prof. Ankhi Mukherjee, Professor of English and World Literatures at the University of Oxford.
