Oxford Students for Liberty is running a campaign to raise awareness of current human rights abuses in North Korea so we are going to have a talk next week by Young-hae Chi on Tuesday at 7.30pm in the Gillese Badun Seminar Room in Wadham College. This event is for everyone – not just students!
Young-hae Chi is an instructor in Korean at the Oxford Oriental Institute and at Regent’s Park College and an active member of the North Korean Refugee community and he is a good person to talk about the situation in North Korea and North Korean refugee culture.
I think it’s sad we don’t talk about North Korea more- it’s kind of shameful the way people joke about it like it isn’t really happening and the talk looks like it should be really interesting.
