A leading centre-left political scientist and author within the EU, Mark Leonard graduated from Cambridge University, where he chaired the student Labour Party, and first worked for the think tank Demos before founding the Foreign Policy Centre in 1998 and the European Council on Foreign Relations in 2007. He remains director and has published two bestselling books on foreign relations, ‘Why Europe Will Run the 21st Century’, and ‘What does China think?’. Named a ‘Young Global Leader’ by the World Economic Forum, Mr Leonard remains a hugely prolific commentator on global affairs.
He will be addressing the Oxford International Relations Society on the subject of ‘Weaponising Interdependence – Why Migration, Finance, and Trade Are the Battlegrounds of the Future’, at 4pm on Friday 9th June, at the Britton Room, Trinity College.
