Wednesday 6th April, 6:30 for 7pm start, with Jamie Bristow talking Mindfulness.

Jamie Bristow is the Director of The Mindfulness Initiative (http://themindfulnessinitiative.org.uk/)

Jamie will explain how the word mindfulness is being used to mean too many different things and that the resulting ambiguity is causing much misunderstanding and criticism.
He will briefly explore all the different uses of the term and suggest which of them is the most appropriate and which concepts perhaps need other labels. This will include a description of the ‘universal human vulnerabilities’ that participants of Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction and Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy groups are encouraged to explore – an exploration that people are often referring to when they simply say that ‘mindfulness’ has a certain impact.

The talk will be held in the function room in Wig & Pen pub.
The venue is wheelchair accessible.
