As part of our events commemorating the centenary of American entry into the First World War, this film series explores what the American people were watching during and after the First World War

Introduced by Dr Michael Hammond, Associate Professor of Film at the University of Southampton. Dr Hammond is presently working on a British Academy funded project entitled The After Image of the Great War in Hollywood, 1919-1939, examining the impact of the Great War on the aesthetics of Hollywood in the interwar period.
