Dr Chris Cocking is a Senior Lecturer in Mental Health Nursuring at the University of Brighton. He specialises in the study of crowd behaviour (especially in mass emergencies) & will talk about how crowds are often wrongly pathologised, how this influences emergency planning and response & how future threats to security could be reduced by a more collaborative approach to working with (rather than against ) crowds.

Dr Mark Burgess is a Senior Lecturer in Social Psychology at Oxford Brookes University. His talk will examine the influence of self and group identity on terrorism.

PANEL 2: COGNITIVE ENHANCEMENT

Dr. Lennart Verhagen is a Marie Curie Research Fellow in the Decision and Action Laboratory at the University of Oxford. His research examines the question of what makes the human brain unique.
