Contract and Compositional Drawings for Specific Commissions; Italian Renaissance Drawing: Design, Form and Function

These highly finished drawings often constituted contracts sometimes being attached to documents relating to the prospective work. We will look at the choice of mediums, the architectural compositional schemes in their subsequent frescoes and why this might be significant with changes made in the finished frescoes, and how the patron’s influence came to bear on this process.
