The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) is hosting its annual Mountbatten Memorial lecture, as part of its Prestige Lecture Series on Tuesday 3 November at 18:30, which will take place at the newly refurbished IET headquarters at Savoy Place, London.

The lecture will be given by Professor Dieter Helm, an economist specialising in utilities, infrastructure, regulation and the environment and author of the provocative book The Carbon Crunch.

His IET lecture will look at the new and emerging features of the energy landscape and suggest how EU and UK policy will need to change as a result – potentially having a huge impact on the UK Government’s Energy Market policy and key components of the EU’s Energy Union. In addition, Professor Helm will look at the role of new technology and energy trends and suggest the implications for the structure and competitiveness of major energy companies.
