Sarah Jenkinson, of Tibbalds, will speak about the evolution of intentional communities, and why co-housing is a more typical housing model than you might think. Simon Henley, principal of architects Henley Halebrown Rorrison, will discuss Copper Lane – London’s first completed co-housing scheme. Together, they will explore the social value and the potential efficiencies and economies of co-housing, how the model can increase development densities whilst enriching the lives of residents, and how small changes to development briefs and branding can make co-housing a viable housing option. Finally, they will illustrate how co-housing could simply be a social framework that is integrated within our existing housing stock.
