In August this year, a team of astronomers led by Dr Guillem Anglada Escude of the School of Physics and Astronomy at Queen Mary University of London discovered an Earth-mass panet in orbit around Proxima Cantauri, the nearest star to the Sun,.

Dr Anglada Escude will describe the cutting-edge science that led to this momentous discovery, and the prospects for future searches and even more exciting discoveries.

All are welcome — the talk will be accessible to a non-specialist audience. Admission is free, but you should register for a place at: https://proxima-b.eventbrite.co.uk
