In 1915 Einstein produced his master work, general relativity. His theory of gravity, based on the bending of spacetime itself is perhaps the single most impressive discovery in the history of theoretical physics. This talk will describe the basic ideas and concepts behind relativity and how one hundred years later Einstein’s legacy lives on.
We hope you will join us for an enlightening evening with staff and students of the School of Physics and Astronomy, refreshments will be served after the lecture. This talk is at a level suitable for any interested member of the general public and children 15+. School groups are welcome.

Speaker Bio:
David Berman is a passionate proponent of public engagement with Physics and has been working at the leading edge of String theory for over 15 years. His public engagement activities have varied from work with schools to talks at the Tate Modern and appearances on Radio 4.
