In many ways, the post war years were a golden era for modern medicine, and included the discovery of antibiotics which changed the face of modern medicine. In this lecture Dr Laura Bowater looks at the history of antibiotics and considers actions that could be taken to benefit the uncertain future for treating everyday infections or diseases, and development of new antibiotics.
