Sir Mark Walport FRS FMedSci, Chief Scientific Adviser to HM Government and Head of the Government Office for Science, Professor of Medicine, Imperial College London.

Sir Mark’s responsibilities include providing scientific advice to the Prime Minister and members of Cabinet and advising the government on aspects of policy on science and technology. He also leads the science and engineering profession within the Civil Service.
