The first instalment will be introducing you to Rob Forkan co-founder of Gandy’s Flip Flops, entrepreneur Zoe Jackson and British burlesque icon Jo King on their passions and enterprises.
Rob Forkan
In just over a year brothers Rob and Paul Forkan – who lost their parents in the 2004 tsunami – have already achieved international success with their humanitarian company Gandys Flip Flops, which raises money for orphans & under privileged children worldwide. On Boxing Day 2014 Gandys are opening their first childrens’ home, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the tsunami. Gandys has been supported by the likes of David Cameron, Sir Richard Branson, Jessie J, Jamie Oliver and Jessica Alba. Hear how they started the company in their tiny Brixton flat and have since launched Gandys in Selfridges, House of Fraser, ASOS, Soletrader, Office, and Topman Oxford Street.
Zoe Jackson
Award winning entrepreneur Zoe Jackson set up the Living the Dream performing arts company in 2006 at the age of 16 to inspire young people and to subsidise her own performing arts training and education. Zoe is passionate about championing young talent, creating affordable access to the arts and empowering young people to live their dreams. Listen to how Zoe went from student to CEO and why she has received the support and endorsement of Sir Richard Branson.
Jo King
With over 35 years’ experience in the world of performance art, Jo King exemplifies body confidence. She formed the pioneering London Academy of Burlesque intent on helping women to feel fabulous about themselves, regardless of age, shape or ability, by teaching them her craft. She has taught over 30 percent of Europes’ professional burlesque artists. Hear how Jo has inspired thousands of women to gain confidence, explore their creativity and rejoice in the sheer joy of being female!
