Dinosaurs: communication, colours, signals and socialityIn recent years palaeontologists have made huge advances in our understanding of the behaviour of the dinosaurs, in particular in relation to their social behaviour – what kinds of groups they may have lived in, and how they communicated. We are now even beginning to discover the colours and patterns of some dinosaurs bringing a new depth to our investigations of these extinct animals.

Dr Dave Hone is a lecturer at Queen Mary, University of London, specialising in dinosaurs and pterosaurs. He blogs at Lost Worlds hosted by the Guardian and at Archosaur Musings. He is also a contributor to Pterosaur.net and created Ask A Biologist.
