Join architects and collaborators, Edward Jones and Jeremy Dixon, as they discuss previous projects and Postmodernism at Sir John Soane’s Museum.

Dixon and Jones’ Royal Opera House at Covent Garden is featured in our current exhibition, The Return of the Past: Postmodernism in British Architecture; a show which explores the work of five pioneering protagonists of the Postmodern movement in 1980s Britain. To celebrate the exhibition and this experimental period of urban architecture, the two architects will discuss their partnership, their previous collaborative projects and the postmodern label.

The Jeremy Dixon and Edward Jones partnership was formed in 1989 and became a limited company in April 2003. The practice has won RIBA Regional Awards for the Henry Moore Institute in Leeds, 1989, the Residential Towers for the Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, 1993, the Study Centre for Darwin College, Cambridge, 1994, superstore for J Sainsbury Plc, Plymouth, 1994, the Royal Opera House, London, 2000, the National Portrait Gallery, London, 2000, Saïd Business School, Oxford Phase I, 2001, and Phase II 2012 and four national awards for the two phases of the National Gallery project 2006. At the 1991 Venice Biennale their entry for an open international competition ‘A Gateway for Venice’ won first prize.

This event is hosted in the seminar room at No.14 Lincoln’s Inn Fields. The 30 minute talk will followed by a 30 minute audience discussion.
