In advance of what is widely tipped to be one of the most closely fought general elections in living memory, are citizens showing signs of being more politically engaged than in recent years?
How do public engagement levels compare with the same stage prior to the 2005 and 2010 elections?
Has there been a ‘referendum effect’ in Scotland? Are peoples in Scotland more politically engaged than in past years, and are they more engaged than those living in other parts of the country?
These and other questions are explored in the Hansard Society’s latest Audit of Political Engagement which, for that last 12 years, has tracked public attitudes to politics, parties and Parliament.
The authors of the report will present the key findings and set the results in context. Following the presentation of the results there will be a panel-audience discussion about the issues and questions that arise in the report.
Free copies of the report will be available on the night for all attendees.
