Making and Running Great Gardens

Britain’s great gardens are among the glories of our countryside. But how much did they cost to build and maintain, who supplied their plants and equipment and what was involved in maintaining, managing and staffing them? This lecture, based on original records, is a further contribution by the Provost to the economic history of British gardening.
