Human dispersal around the world has been accompanied by a range of other species that have established themselves outside the limits of their natural distribution. These invaders, non-native, exotic or alien species, are changing the natural world as these species, when once established, are very difficult to eradicate.
Professor Tim Blackburn is the Director at The Institute of Zoology. His research interests include The Biology of Introduced and Invasive Species and Macroecology: Large-Scale Patterns in the Abundance and Geographic Distribution of Animals. His works are widely published, with his most recent being ‘Pattern and Process in Macroecology’, co-authored with K. J. Gaston.
