Tickets for "Wallace the naturalist - legacy and relevance today" | 20/11/13 | John MacKinnon Lecture at the Linnean Society "Orangutan Foundation trustee Dr John MacKinnon has been a pioneer within the world of wild orangutan research. He embarked upon his orangutan studies in 1968 and has played a pivotal role in conservation in Asia. He has written and co-authored books (In Search of the Red Ape; A Field Guide to the Birds of Borneo, Sumatra, Java and Bali) and has recieved awards for his lifetime services to conservation.

On the 12th of November, Dr MacKinnon will be focusing on the continuing legacy and relevance of Wallace today. This evening in November will give vital insight into Wallace’s work within such fields as island biogeography, climate change, conservation and his favourite species – the orangutan and its luxuriant home on Borneo. Ticket price includes wine and there will also be a raffle. 

£20 per ticket – funds to raise money for a camera trap for use in Pondok Ambung Tropical Forest Research Station (Central Kalimantan, Indonesia).
