Central London Humanists (CLH) are pleased to welcome Lesley Close as she explains what assisted dying is and why should the law be changed to permit it. The event will take place at the Conway Hall on June 15, 2022, from 7 pm to 9 pm.
In 2003, Lesley Close’s brother John became the seventh British person to travel to Dignitas to have help to die. He was 54 and dying of motor neurone disease when he found out that there was an alternative to letting his illness take its course.
Lesley travelled to Zurich with him and witnessed his peaceful and dignified death and, since then, she has campaigned to change the law so that dying people can have the choice of the same compassionate help in the UK.
As well as speaking on TV and radio and giving interviews to newspapers and magazines, she has written extensively on the subject.
