Community discussion on conservation challenges and solutionsThe delivery of effective conservation action requires a wide range of, continually evolving, skills and knowledge, and there is an urgent need for a coordinated response from the conservation community to ensure that the required levels of training and professional development are provided. In response, in February 2013, a conference of international scope was convened in Colombia to discuss Capacity Building for Conservation. This meeting will communicate the key findings and strategic solutions developed during the Colombia conference, as well as present a selection of conservation capacity-building initiatives that demonstrate good practice and provide tangible examples of the concepts being discussed. These case studies will include ZSL’s EDGE Fellowship programme, which is a two-year training programme supporting early career conservationists working on Evolutionarily Distinct and Globally Endangered species. Additional examples will be drawn from external partners contributing to conservation capacity building at a range of levels.

Booking is not necessary for this event – seating is allocated on a first come, first served basis. Further details on talks and speakers will be available approximately one month prior to the event, so please check back on this page.
