A conference discussing historical public health achievements in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Westminster and Hammersmith and Fulham, and future trends in public health and how these might be tackled.

Speakers include:

  •  Prof. Nick Bosanquet, Imperial College, London, will discuss a variety of historical scientific achievements in public health, including John Snow’s work in tracing a cholera outbreak in Soho and the Whitehall Study.
  •  Meradin Peachey, Tri-borough Director of Public Health, will speak about current trends in public health.
  •  Prof. Ivo Vleav, Co author of the MINDSPACE report, will speak about the science behind behaviour change crucial to tackling current public health issues such as obesity and heart disease.
  •  Dr Oyinlola Oyebode, Lead author of a scientific paper on dietary guidelines, will discuss fruit and vegetables consumption and whether we should be eating seven, not five portions of fruit and veg a day.
