Clerical child rapists and their facilitators – are the churches coming clean?

Keith Porteous Wood took seven years to get the Vatican examined by the UN for its non-compliance with the Convention on the Rights of the Child, particularly over clerical rape and other violence against children in its care. The UN’s verdict could hardly have been more damning.

So with the new smiling Pope, full of apologies, is all well in the Catholic Church now? And surely no significant problems in the Established Church?

Keith has been leading the National Secular Society’s campaigning for the last twenty years. He was previously a finance director for several large distribution companies. Much of his work is in Parliaments, until recently also in Brussels, in Whitehall and in the media. He has led the NSS championing of Human Rights both as an advisor to the EU Fundamental Rights Agency and in the UN where the NSS has special consultative status enabling it to speak at the Human Rights Council.

Doors open at 6.30 pm for the talk at 7.00 p.m

Please arrive before the talk to enjoy a glass of wine from our charity wine bar and mingle.

All profits from the wine bar will go to the speaker’s chosen charity.

Please note, we charge a token entrance fee of £3 to help towards the hire of the venue and equipment.
