Full title ‘Discussion: Hope in the face of climate change – Where can we look to take positive actions for a brighter future?’

Many respond with fear and anxiety in the face of current changes in climate and when looking ahead to the inevitable changes that are to come. We are bombarded with messages that we have to change the way we live, while acutely aware that changing to energy saving light bulbs is a drop in the ocean. A desire to help, but feeling dis-empowered, is leading to a dwindling hope for our future.

Hope in the Face of Climate Change will be a space for discussion, reflection and prayer. Please join Christian Aid, JustShare and St James’s Church Piccadilly to explore issues of food security and pro-poor management of the environment and reflect and act to contribute to a brighter future for all

Confirmed speakers:
Yamikani Dakalira, Centre for Environmental Policy and Advocacy (CEPA) in Malawi
Clare Fussell and Clare Paine, Christian Aid
Chaired by The Revd Lucy Winkett, St James’s Church, Piccadilly

This debate is part of “A Sukkah for All,” a special programme hosted by St James’s Church featuring a week of events to celebrate Harvest and Sukkot.

The cost of admission to any of these events is at least one item of non-perishable food. Donations will be distributed by the Trussell Trust to people in crisis in our city.
