Until recently, Ethiopia has appeared a mysterious country, known predominantly for famine and poverty. Look behind preconceptions, however, and you’ll find a verdant nation of dramatic flat-topped mountains, endemic wildlife, rock-cut churches, Rift Valley lakes and a man who feeds wild hyenas every night outside Harar’s medieval city walls…

Join us to hear more about travelling through Ethiopia from the historic north with its ancient rock churches, medieval castles and rugged peaks of the Simien mountains to the lunar landscapes of Dallol and the active volcano, Erta Ale, in the unforgiving Danakil Depression; and the lush lands of the tribal south in the Omo Valley.

In 2016 we are also introducing a new group tour incorporating the Omo Valley, the walled medieval city of Harar, the Bale Mountains and the Rift Valley lakes, some of the oldest and deepest lakes in the world.

Time: 6:30pm for 7pm presentation

Entry: £10 including a glass of wine, beer or soft drink (a contribution from ticket sales will also aid the Wild Frontiers Foundation)
