Ever since it was theorised in 1920, fusion power has offered us the potential of almost unlimited energy. In this joint event with the French embassy, Steve Cowley will tell us about his work as Director of Culham Centre for Fusion Energy – which hosts Europe’s JET device, the world’s largest magnetic confinement plasma physics experiment. Alain Bécoulet will then talk about the new ITER machine in France, designed to be the bridge between experimental reactors and full scale fusion power plants.
