Professor Sir Michael Stratton FRS FMedSci, Director of the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, will talk about his research, and how he led his research group to discover the BRCA2 gene, now known to be associated with breast cancer.

Sir Michael will be delivering the annual Jean Shanks Memorial Lecture on behalf of the Academy of Medical Sciences.
