Dr Zoe Jaques, who is Fellow in Education and Children’s Literature, Homerton College, University of Cambridge, will explain how Carroll’s personal interest in animal rights emerges in his books to reveal a philosophy that aligns as much with modern takes on the subjectivity of animals as it does with mid-19th-century questions on the rights of Man.
