It has been almost three decades since Margaret Thatcher stepped down from power, and yet she is still the most controversial figure in British politics. For some, she redefined Britain for the 20th century, for others she destroyed British industry and laid waste to communities that have never recovered.

Britain’s first female prime minster has been the subject of several biographies but, until now, no historian had given his or her verdict on the Iron Lady. David Cannadine’s new book is therefore itself a historical event, and we are delighted to host this unique discussion between Mrs Thatcher’s authorised biographer and one of our leading political historians.

Chaired by Eliza Filby author of God and Mrs Thatcher, Charles Moore and Sir David Cannadine will debate and discuss the life, the legacy and the truth of the woman who helped bring the end to the Cold War and transformed British political life.
